Instructions for Using Latex Candle Moulds

  1. Select the correct wick size for the candle mould.
  2. Cut the wick 2” longer than the mould.
  3. Using a wicking needle, thread the wick through the mould piercing the latex at the end and pull the wick through by at least ½”. Seal the end with a sticky substance such as plasticine or wax glue.
  4. Suspend a wick holder across the rim of the mould and pull the wick through this until it is taut. Ensure the wick is centrally located.
  5. Place the mould in a suitable mould holder and pour in the liquid wax. Approximately 75°C for beeswax or 93°C for paraffin wax.
  6. Leave to cool as long as possible. Time taken will depend on the mould size and ambient temperature.
  7. When set, remove the wickholder and seal.
  8. Gently rub the outside of the mould with warm diluted washing up liquid.
  9. Carefully peel back the mould to reveal your candle.
  10. Trim the top wick to 3/8 “ and cut the base wick as close as possible to the wax.
